SCAFFEX 2025

Last weekend saw the return of ScaffEx 2025, the UK’s scaffolding, access, and temporary works exhibition, this time at Manchester Central. The event brought together contractors, engineers, manufacturers, and suppliers from across the country under one roof.

From new product innovations to thought-provoking panel discussions, the event was a great reminder of just how fast the industry is evolving.

One of the standout moments from the day was seeing Pilosio officially launch its Flydeck system into the UK market. Designed to improve efficiency, speed and safety, the Flydeck demonstration drew a lot of attention on the exhibition floor, especially as it’s now being supported through a UK collaboration with Creator Scaffold Designs and JMAC. The event also featured a live panel talk, offering more insight into Pilosio’s expansion and the benefits of the system for British contractors and design teams alike.

I was at the event working with Creator, photographing and filming various parts of the day, including some of the scaffold builds on display. It was great to catch up with familiar faces from previous projects and equally nice to meet some new people across the industry. There’s something about events like SCAFFEX that reminds you scaffolding isn’t just about poles and boards, it’s about collaboration, design, precision, and more than anything else, people.

Another highlight was the award ceremony, which recognised excellence in the scaffolding sector. Congratulations to Infrastructure Site Services for winning Major Project of the Year for their impressive work on the Tyne Bridge, a project that stood out for its complexity and impact. A well-deserved recognition.

From an industry point of view, the day felt like a positive step forward, not just in terms of product innovation, but in the way scaffolding and temporary works are being communicated, branded, and shared. There’s definitely more awareness around the importance of visual content, storytelling, and bringing technical projects to life through photo and video. Something we’re proud to be part of.
